VMWare on Tuesday announced the release of Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro, the latest versions of their virtualization software, designed to run Windows under Mac OS X. Both new versions include support for Windows 10 (with always-on access to Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual assistant), OS X 10.11 El Capitan, and more.
Both new versions offer 3D graphics acceleration and Direct X 10 support, along with support for USB 3.0, and multiple monitors. Fusion offers full 64-bit support, with up to 16 vCPUs, 64GB RAM and an 8TB hard drive for a single virtual machine.
Also included is full support for the latest Mac laptops and desktop systems, allowing Mac users to run Windows virtual machines at native resolution on a 5K display, as well as offering support for USB-C and Force Touch on the latest MacBooks.
Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro are both available now for $79.99 and $199.99 respectively through the VMware Online Store. Existing Fusion customers can upgrade for $49.99 and $119.99 respectively. If you’re a Parallel user, you can score a 40% discount on the latest versions of Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro.
