Misfit on Wednesday announced Shine 2, a redesigned version of their popular Shine fitness tracker. The new Shine 2 offers internal upgrades, a vibration motor, and a thinner profile.

The Shine 2’s advanced hardware and firmware offers improved touch responsiveness, faster syncing, and an extended Bluetooth range. The new model also offers text and call notifications, as well as a silent vibe alarm.
Activity and sleep tracking have also been improved on the Shine 2, as the new wearable offers a 3-axis accelerometer and newly added 3-axis magnetometer. Users can track their progress via a halo of rainbow-colored lights, and the Shine 2 will also give users a vibrational nudge to encourage them to get moving, via the Misfit Move feature of the new device.
The Shine 2 offers a thinner aircraft grade aluminum body, while retaining its iconic look. The Shine offers a 6-month battery life, and 50 meters water resistance.
As well as tracking a user’s activity and sleep patterns, the Shine 2 is also compatible with Misfit Link, the software that allows users to communicate with friends, control their music, take a selfie, turn on lights, and more – all with just a double-tap of the Shine 2.
The Shine 2 is available in Carbon Black and Rose Gold, and is today available for $99.99 at misfit.com. The device will be available in retail locations worldwide in November.
