Apple Seeds Third Beta of tvOS 9.1 to Developers

Apple on Tuesday seeded the third beta of tvOS 9.1 to developers. The release comes a little over a week following the second seed of the planned update to tvOS 9.0, which runs on the fourth-generation Apple TV.

The third tvOS 9.1 beta – build 13U5077a – is available as an over-the-air update to those devices who are running the first beta. Otherwise, developers will need to install the new seed by downloading it form the Apple Developer Center, connecting their Apple TV to their computer via a USB-C to USB-A cable, and installing the seed via iTunes.

So far, most of the changes in tvOS 9.1 appear to be under-the-hood changes. The update is most likely set to fix issues users have found so far following the launch of the fourth-generation Apple TV.

Apple also released the fourth beta of iOS 9.2, as well as Xcode 7.2 Beta 4 (Build 7C62b) on Wednesday.
