Apple is now offering replacement tips for the Apple Pencil, via its online store. A set of four will run you $19, and delivery is estimated for Thursday, March 24 at the earliest.
While the $99 Apple Pencil ships with a spare tip in the box, there hadn’t been a way to purchase additional replacement tips until now. Apple had promised to make replacement tips available for the accessory when the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil first launched, and it has made good on that pledge.
Replacing the tip of an Apple Pencil is simple, just unscrew the old tip, and screw the new one on. Repeat as needed. With the introduction of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro on Monday, these should begin to sell like hotcakes when people begin wearing out or losing the tips. We give it three months.
