iOS 9.3.2 Beta Reported to Include Fix for Game Center’s ‘White Screen of Death’ Bug

iOS 9.3.2 Beta Reported to Include Fix for Game Center’s ‘White Screen of Death’ Bug

A Game Center bug that has afflicted iOS gamers since iOS 8 appears to have been fixed in the latest public beta of iOS 9.3.2. The bug involves Game Center launching as a blank white screen, crashing games to a white screen, and freezing the Settings app when Selecting Game Center’s options.

iOS 9.3.2 Beta Reported to Include Fix for Game Center's 'White Screen of Death' Bug

MacRumors:

Game Center for iOS is a necessary component of many turn-based multiplayer App Store titles, which rely on Apple’s social gaming network to enable gamers to invite friends, start multiplayer matches, and compete for high scores.

Gaming site TouchArcade has a 75 pages long thread in its forums discussing the “white screen of death” bug, with recent entries indicating the bug has apparently been fixed in the iOS 9.3.2 beta. Although, gamers appear to be taking a wait and see attitude about the fix, holding off declaring victory until more is known. (This is after all, a beta, and things change before a final release.)

While a number of users feel the new beta finally fixes the bug, there has been no official announcement, in release notes or otherwise, indicating an official confirmation of the bug fix from Apple itself.

The public beta of iOS 9.3 was released last Thursday. Beta testers who are enrolled in Apple’s beta testing program will receive the iOS 9.3.2 update over-the-air if they have the proper certificate installed on their iOS device. (If you’re a public beta tester, you’ll know what that means.)

The video below is from TouchArcade forum member and journalist Craig Grannell, and shows the bug in action…
