These Sketchy Photos Are Said to be of a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2

While we’ve had plenty of videos and photos of iPhone 7 mockup floating around, a pair of photos said to be of a 12.9-inch “iPad Pro 2” are the first to surface of the super-sized device.

AppleInsider received the photos, said to originate from a Chinese supplier, from an anonymous party on Sunday. The photos were allegedly snapped by a worker at the facility where the photos were taken.

The photos show a device with a model number of MH1C2CD/F, an identifier that has yet to be used by Apple, and one which is in line with the company’s existing numbering convention for the iPad Pro range of devices.

The device shows a 12GB capacity, which is a bit odd, but AI asserts that would be enough for installing an operating system, and a few apps for internal testing and debugging.

Apple is expected to update the iPad Pro line in the near future, and the 12.9-inch model is expected to feature a faster A10X processor, possibly the True Tone display that is used in the 9.7-inch model, and as a long shot, a 3D Touch display.

As is usual for reports and photos such as these, everything should be viewed with a jaundiced eye. We imagine reports such as this will begin appearing more often about the iPad Pro, and will take a number of twists and turns before we finally know the true facts.
