WikiLeaks Leak Reveals Apple’s Tim Cook was on Hillary Clinton List of Vice President Possibilities

A new email leaked by WikiLeaks from Hillary Clinton presidential campaign chairman John Podesta reveals Apple CEO Tim Cook was listed among a number of others as possible running mates for presidential candidate Clinton.

Cook was listed in the email as a possibility, alongside Bill Gates, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, and dozens of others.

The email, dated 03/17/2016, is a “first cut” of possibilities to consider as a Vice Presidential candidate. Clinton and her handlers eventually selected U.S Senator (VA) Tim Kaine as her running mate.

Names on the list included:

  • Javier Becerra
  • Julian Castro
  • Eric Garcetti
  • Tom Perez
  • Ken Salazar
  • Tammy Baldwin
  • Kirsten Gillibrand
  • Amy Klobuchar
  • Claire McKaskill
  • Jeanne Shaheen
  • Debbie Stabenow
  • Elizabeth Warren

  • Tim Cook

Cook hosted a fundraising event for the “Hillary Victory Fund”  back in August. That committee contributes to the Clinton campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and 38 state parties. Cook co-hosted the event alongside Apple environmental head Lisa Jackson. Both hosted the event as private citizens, not as representatives of Apple. It should be noted that Cook has shown support for various candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties.
