Apple Seeds Third Beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, Xcode 8.2 Beta 2 to Developers

Apple on Monday seeded the third macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta to developers. The third seed comes one week following the second beta release of the upcoming Mac operating system.

Today’s seed – build 16C48b – is available for download through the Apple Developer Center, as well as through the “Update” tab in the Mac App Store. A public beta will likely be available for public beta testers soon.

The macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta includes the same new and updated emoji that are included with the iOS 10.2 beta, also released earlier last week. This includes support for Unicode 9 and the new professions emoji. Apple has also updated many of the existing emoji, with added details, offering a brighter and more realistic look. The update also focuses on the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements, which are designed to address any issues that users have discovered since the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.1.

macOS 10.12.2 comes on the heels of the September release of macOS Sierra. Apple’s latest Mac operating system includes new features like Siri on the Mac,Apple Pay on the web, picture-in-picture video playback, and more.

Xcode 8.2 Beta 2

Also released on Monday was a new second beta for Xcode 8.2, the new beta – build 8C30a – is available for download from the Apple Developer Center. The new beta includes the SDKs for iOS 10.2 beta, macOS 10.12.2 beta, watchOS 3.1.1 beta, and tvOS 10.1 beta. The Xcode 8.2 beta requires OS X 10.11.5 or later.
