Developer Brian Kane has somehow merged Amazon’s virtual personal assistant Alexa with a Big Mouth Billy Bass, and the results are interesting to say the least.
To set the stage, Alexa is the avatar for Amazon’s lineup of home assistant devices, which include the Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap, and Echo Dot. The devices are voice activated personal assistants, similar to Siri, which should be familiar to anyone who has used an iOS device in the last several years.
In the video, you can see the animatronic fish responding to the Amazon Echo wake word, “Alexa,” and moving its mouth with Alexa’s responses. The fish responds to an inquiry about the weather.
While unsettling, the Big Mouth Billy Bass’s responses are much more useful that it’s traditional motion-detected performances of “Take Me to the River,” or “Don’t Worry, be Happy.”
