Apple Premieres Their First AirPods TV Commercials, Plus a New Apple Watch Ad

Apple over the weekend posted the first ever TV ads for its new AirPods wireless earbuds. The four new spots focus on activity, and how the new earbuds stay in your ears.

The first trio of ads, shown here, feature dancer Lil Buck as he goes for a stroll through the streets, walls, marquees, and cars of a downtown area, accompanied by his new AirPods. The trio of ads — set to the beat of Marian Hill’s “Down” — consists of a one minute spot, as well as two shorter blurbs. All feature the wireless headphones easy pairing via Apple’s custom W1 chip, Siri integration, and proximity sensing.

The fourth commercial, also set to the beat of “Down,” features the AirPods’ unique design and uses them to signify notes along a moving musical staff.

The ads continue with the “practically magic” iPhone ad taglines, ending with the tagline “AirPods on iPhone 7, practically magic.”

The ads arrive to promote the new earbuds, even as Apple continues to lag in providing enough of the popular wireless earbuds to meet demand. Current shipping estimates for orders via Apple’s online store are six weeks.

Apple also posted a new Apple Watch Series 2 spot over the weekend, encouraging users to “close your rings.” The ads promote the wearable device’s Activity Rings feature.
