iPhone SE Tops American Customer Satisfaction Index for May 2017

Apple’s 14-month-old iPhone SE has topped the most recent American Customer Satisfaction Index data for May 2017. This, despite its age and a consumer preference for bigger-screened devices.

The ACSI data shows a customer satisfaction rating of 87 out of 100 for the iPhone SE, 1 point ahead of the iPhone 7 Plus and Galaxy S6 Edge+.

9to5Mac:

The ASCI gathered its data from 36,194 customer interviews during the 12 months ending in April 2017. The data from those customers was then run through the ACSI’s “cause-and-effect econometric” model, which assigns a rating to user comments and responses for an overall score out of 100 possible points.

Other Apple handsets making an appearance in the list include the iPhone 6 Plus, the iPhone 6s Plus, and the iPhone 7, which all received scores of 83 out of 100. The iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 6s came in at 80 out of 100. The iPhone 6 received 79 out of 100.

The full top 17 list is as follows:

While it may be a bit of a surprise to some to see the 14-month-old handset -which doesn’t include the latest and greatest technology – at the top of the list, it should be noted the index doesn’t measure performance, but instead how well the device is able to satisfy a user’s needs.
