Review: Rareform iPhone XS Case – Billboards Never Looked So Good

iPhone cases are one of the few ways you can show off your unique style. Finding a case that reflects your individuality, while offering reasonable protection can be tough. The Rareform x Nomad iPhone cases strike the perfect balance between your style and durability for the ultimate in iPhone individuality.

Overview

The Rareform x Nomad iPhone Cases ($38-$42 on Rareform.com) are simple, unique cases for your iPhone X/XS, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS Max. They offer great protection, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice style for durability.

Thanks to their partnership with accessory maker Nomad, Rareform is turning their business of repurposing discarded billboards into beautiful cases for your device. This means that every case is one-of-a-kind, and built to last.

Rareform case lining

The case itself is constructed of a soft rubber shell, lined with microfiber to keep your device looking brand new. On the back of each case, a small section of vinyl, reclaimed from old billboards, offers a delightful and unique style. This means that no two cases are alike, each offering a beautiful an eco-friendly design.

In use, the Rareform cases feel great in the hand, and in your pocket. In the month I’ve been using mine, it has become one of my favorite cases. The low-profile design means it’s compatible with wireless chargers, and doesn’t make using your device a cumbersome experience.

One drawback of the cases is that the vinyl backing of the case does show signs of use. Because the billboard design is printed on vinyl, that design can slowly wear off. I’m not particularly hard on my iPhone, keeping it almost exclusively in my pocket, on a desk, or in my hand, and there are spots along the edges that are showing significant signs of use.
