Apple is sending out notifications to Apple Music subscribers, letting them know they can now gift a free month of Apple Music to a friend. By tapping on a link in the notice, users can send a referral to offer a free one-month subscription to the streaming service.
The free month of service offer can only be sent to folks that do not already subscribe to Apple Music. Those that take advantage of the free month will see their subscription renew after the trial ends. Apple already offers a free three month service trial for everyone, so this should increase the three month trial to four.
MacRumors reports not all Apple Music users have received the notification, but a large number of Twitter users report receiving it.
