Apple Music Now Available on Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

If you have one of Amazon’s popular Fire TV streaming dongles or boxes you’ll now be able to listen to your Apple Music subscription via the devices.

To enable Apple Music support, simply turn on the Apple Music skill in the Alexa app. If you already have the skill activated on your Echo devices, it should also work on your Fire TV device(s) without any additional fiddling with the settings.

To play music from your Apple Music plan, say, “Alexa, Play songs by Lady Gaga on Apple Music.” Don’t forget the “Apple Music” part .

Apple Music landed on Echo speakers back on December 17, 2018. As pointed out by AppleInsider, that greatly expanded the Apple service’s access to smartspeakers, as Amazon has a 35.5% global share of the market, compared to Apple’s HomePod’s 4.1% share.

Apple Music support for Amazon’s devices is currently limited to the United States. However, Amazon has confirmed the feature will rollout to the U.K. in the next few weeks.
