iOS App Store Bug Stopping Some Users From Downloading or Updating Purchases

Some iOS App Store customers are being prevented from buying new apps or downloading updates, due to a bug in the iOS App Store. The affected users are facing a prompt in an infinite loop which prompts them to accept new terms and conditions.

The terms and conditions loop issue began appearing at around 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 24. Some App Store and iTunes customers have been unable to download new apps or get updates for existing apps. No similar issue have been reported in the Mac App Store.

At this time we don’t know how many users have been affected by the bug, but some suggest the issue is only affecting users that are using either the public or developer versions of iOS.

Although Apple’s official system status page reports no issues with iTunes or the App Store, numerous users have complained about the issue to Apple via its support account on Twitter, but the company has yet to respond.

If you get stuck in the loop, you can press “Cancel” to get out of the loop, which will allow you to continue to use your iOS device and its currently installed apps.

We’ll keep you posted and will let you know in this space when we hear more.
