Apple Seeds Second Beta of macOS 10.15.1 Catalina to Developers

Apple on Thursday seeded the second beta of macOS 10.15.1 Catalina to developers. The beta comes just a little under a week following the release of the first 10.15.1 beta and  a week and a half after the public release of macOS 10.15 Catalina, the company’s new Mac operating system.

The new developer build can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center by participants in the program, or as a software update for Macs that have the proper profile installed.

According to Apple’s release notes, ‌the macOS Catalina‌ 10.15.1 beta includes the following:

  • Support for the AMD Navi RDNA eGPU architecture
  • Changes to ‌Photos‌. Users can now filter by Favorites, Edited, ‌Photos‌, Videos, or Keywords in the All ‌Photos‌ view, and users can choose View > Metadata > Titles to enable titles and filenames in the All ‌Photos‌ View.

The new beta also likely includes performance improvements and fixes for bugs that have been discovered in the first version of Catalina.
