Apple Watch ‘Ring in the New Year’ Activity Challenge Returns Following One-Year Absence

Apple Watch ‘Ring in the New Year’ Activity Challenge Returns Following One-Year Absence

Apple Watch users will soon receive alerts notifying them about the “Ring in the New Year” activity challenge. The challenge will kick off in January, making it the first Apple Watch activity challenge of 2020.

While Apple began the New Year challenge three years ago, it skipped last year, not offering the challenge for January 2019.

Apple regularly issues Apple Watch Activity Challenges to spur users to discover and use their wearable device’s workout tracking features.

The upcoming challenge will allow Watch users to unlock a special award in the Activity app and earn uniques stickers for iMessage and FaceTime by completing a specific goal of closing all three Activity rings for seven days in a row.

The achievement will require users to stand and move around for at least one minute in 12 different hours of a 24-hour period each day, performing at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, and burning the user’s personal active calories goal for the day.

The challenge will go live from January 7th through January 31st. Apple Watch owners will receive an alert on their Watch about the new challenge before it kicks off.
