Carrier Documents Indicate iOS 13.3 to be Released This Week

Apple’s fourth beta of iOS 13.3 last week looks to be the final beta release, as a document from Vietnamese carrier Viettel indicates that iOS 13.3 and watchOS 6.1.1 will be released this week.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Viettel’s eSIM service will go live next Friday, December 13th.The carriers own support documents say customers must update their iPhone and Apple Watch to iOS 13.3 and watchOS 6.1.1 in order to use the service.

This means iOS 13.3 must be released by this Friday. Typically, we see updates roll out from Apple on a Tuesday and a Wednesday, meaning the iOS and watchOS updates will likely be available by December 11.

iOS 13.3 includes the following new features:

Communication Limits – Communication Limits are now available in the Screen Time section of Settings for limiting who children are speaking with via the Phone, Messages, and FaceTime apps.

Memoji/Animoji Stickers – In the Keyboards section of the Settings app, there’s a new option to prevent Animoji and Memoji Stickers from being displayed on the Emoji keyboard.

Apple Watch app – The ‌Apple Watch‌ app icon’s Digital Crown is now gray instead of black.

FIDO2 Security Keys Support – The Safari browser also now supports FIDO2 security keys over Lightning, USB or NFC.

In addition to iOS 13.3 and watchOS 6.1.1, we may also see the release of tvOS 13.3 during the same period.
