Apple is sending out push notification reminders that read: “Expiring Soon: Your Free of Apple TV+” to users who are eligible for a free year of the Apple TV+ streaming service but have not yet done so. The company is also sending out email alerts.

Buyers of any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac purchased after September 10 are eligible for a free one-year trial of Apple’s new streaming service. However, they must activate the free trial within 3 months of activating their device.
Millions of folks bought iPhones between September 10th and November 1st, so there are plenty of folks likely getting the reminder. Their Apple TV+ offer would expire on January 31st.
Just FYI, if you haven’t activated your free trial of Apple TV+, you can quickly do so on your iPhone or iPad by going to “Settings” -> “[Your Name]” -> “Subscriptions.” When you activate the free year offer, you are signing up for an autorenewing $4.99 per month subscription when the free trial comes to an end. Unfortunately, canceling the subscription also cancel your free trial, so be sure to set a reminder to let you know when your subscription is close to expiring.
