Netflix Will Finally Let You Turn Off Autoplay Previews – Here’s How To Do It

It took years of complaints, but Netflix has finally decided to allow users to disable autoplay previews.

Netflix tweeted on Thursday that they have enabled a toggle switch to control whether or not viewers see autoplay previews.

Autoplay doesn’t really bother me that much, but I know it does bug many of you, so here’s how to turn it off.

How to Turn Off Netflix Autoplay

You can disable the feature by doing the following:

  1. Go to the Netflix website in a browser window.
  2. Tap or click “Manage Profiles.”
  3. Select the user profile you’d like to update the settings for. (This can only be changed on a profile-by-profile basis.)
  4. In the “Autoplay controls” area, click the box next to “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices” to deselect the box.
  5. When you’re done, hit “Save.”

Doing the above will turn off autoplay on all of your devices, including your Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and even that brand-new Netflix-capable refrigerator you have out in the kitchen.

It may take a bit for the new setting to take effect across your devices, so don’t freak out if autoplay hangs in there for a while.
