Apple Launches New Online Store Front for Buying and Getting Technical Help From Home

Apple has launched a new online storefront designed specifically to facilitate buying and getting technical help for Apple products from home.

While Apple has begun reopening stores in some parts of the world, such as Australia and Germany, the Cupertino firm has launched a new online shopping storefront for its U.S. online Apple Store.

In place of the usual “Buy” buttons on each product page, the online store now offers a central location that presents Apple products, services, and information.

“Everything you love about our stores is online,” says the page at apple.com/shop. “Chat with Specialists. Apple Trade In. No-contact delivery. And Genius Bar. All right here.”

The new shop page offers eight large sections for key areas, followed by eight smaller graphics, each devoted to Apple’s product categories, similar to those seen in the Apple Store app for iPad and iPhone. The layout works well on the iPhone, iPad, and on desktop platforms.

The overall focus is on shopping. However, the page’s first two graphics are focused on getting support, and then offering information about Apple’s “no-contact delivery.”

The page appears to be a result of Apple’s ongoing adjustments in the way it does business due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is currently not known if the page will continue to be presented in this way once Apple’s U.S. retail stores begin to reopen.
