Apple Card Extends Its Deferred Payment Program Through August

Apple has once again extended its Apple Card COVID-19 Customer Assistance Program by a month, allowing cardholders to defer their August card payments without incurring interest charges.

Apple Card users need to opt-in to the program by messaging a support representative via the Wallet app on an Apple device. Users will need to tap on the black circle with three dots, tap on the message bubble, and then send a message that states “I want to enroll in the Customer Assistance Program.”

Confirmation of enrollment in the program will then be sent to the email address that is associated with the user’s Apple ID.

Apple informs users about the Customer Assistance Program via email when sending monthly statement balances. An Apple support document offers more details about the August extension.

While the balances will eventually need to be paid, the deferred payments with no interest will help provide some relief to the economic pressures brought about by the layoffs caused by the pandemic.
