Apple Updates iWork, iMovie, and GarageBand With macOS Big Sur Refreshed Icons, Designs, and Compatibility

Following Thursday’s release of macOS Big Sur, Apple updated a number of its first-party apps to support the new operating system version, as well as the upcoming Apple Silicon Macs.

Included in the updates is Apple’s suite of iWork apps (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote), iMovie, and GarageBand.

All of the apps received refreshed icons as well as a “refined new design on ‌macOS Big Sur‌.” In addition, the new update benefit from stability and performance improvements on Macs powered by M1 Apple Silicon.

iWork apps for iOS have also received minor updates including stability and performance improvements.

GarageBand for Mac received the following updates:

– Refined new design on ‌macOS Big Sur‌
– Improved performance and efficiency on Mac computers with Apple silicon
– Allows customisation of region colours in your tracks
– Adds 1,800 Apple Loops in a variety of genres including Hip-Hop, Chill Rap, Future Bass, New Disco, Bass House and more
– Adds over 190 instrument patches and 50 vintage and modern drum kits

Pages for Mac saw the following in its update:

– Refined new design on macOS Big Sur
– Stability and performance improvements

Numbers and Keynote both benefited from “Stability and performance improvements.

Apple also updated its iMovie app for Mac with ‌Apple Silicon‌ support.

Apple updated its professional video and audio apps, Final Cut Pro and Logic, earlier on Thursday.
