Apple on Wednesday shared a new ad promoting the iPhone 12’s durability features, highlighting the device’s Ceramic Shield display, which is designed to be tougher than standard smartphone glass.
In the ad, a woman fumbles with her iPhone 12 for several seconds, before it finally slips out of her control, hitting the grown, yet coming away unscathed.
“iPhone 12 with Ceramic Shield. Tougher than any smartphone glass. Relax, it’s the iPhone,” reads the video’s caption.
The iPhone 12 lineup features the Ceramic Shield OLED display, which Apple claims offers four times better drop protection than prior iPhones. The Ceramic Shield material was developed by Corning, and is made by infusing nano-ceramic crystals into the glass to improve durability.
