Rumor: Entire iPhone 13 Lineup to Feature Larger Batteries

Well-known leaker l0vetodream claims that Apple will increase the battery capacities for the entire 2021 iPhone 13 lineup. The revelation was first posted on Weibo and shared on Twitter.

The rumor indicates that the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro Max will feature a 4352mAh battery, compared to the current iPhone 12 Pro Max’s 3687mAh battery. The ‌iPhone 13‌ and ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro will share a battery of 3095mAh, compared to 2815mAh. The smallest model of the lineup, the ‌iPhone 13‌ mini, will feature a 2406mAh battery, compared to the iPhone 12 mini’s 2227mAh.

Also contributing to possible longer battery life in the iPhone 13 lineup will be the A15 chip, which is expected to power iPhone 13 devices. The new A-series chip is expected to offer better energy efficiency.

Sales of Apple’s smallest iPhone 12 device, the iPhone 12 mini, has been somewhat disappointing when compared to other iPhone 12 models. One reason for the less than spectacular sales of the smallest iPhone is likely the device’s smaller battery, which has proven to struggle to provide all-day power.

A May report indicated the new iPhone 13 lineup will be slightly thicker in design than the iPhone 12 lineup. The additional thickness would allow for larger battery capacities.
