Apple Makes Safari 15 Beta Available for macOS Catalina

Apple has now made available a beta version of Safari 15 for macOS Catalina users. The new beta, which is separate from the Safari Technology Preview, features the redesign that is available in the betas of macOS Monterey.

The Safari 15 beta was first spotted and reported on by 9to5Mac, and while that report said it is only available to download using the AppleSeed Program via an exclusive invite from Apple, other reports indicate that it is actually available to all users with a developer account.

Safari 15 debuted alongside the macOS Monterey beta, but users of macOS Big Sur can try out the browser’s new features via Safari Technology Preview‌, release 128. This new Safari 15 beta makes the browser available to users of Catalina.

Safari 15 offers a new browsing experience with a new tab design that allows users to see more of the page as they scroll. A new tab bar takes on the color of the webpage and combines tabs, the toolbar, and the search field into a single compact design.

Tab Groups offer a new way to easily save and manage tabs — great for planning trips, shopping, or storing the tabs users visit daily. Tab Groups also sync across Mac, iPhone, and iPad, so users can continue their project from anywhere and easily share tabs with friends and family.
