Apple Searching for Large Production Facility for Apple TV+ Productions

Apple is in search of a large production campus in the Los Angeles area for Apple TV+, says a new report by the Wall Street Journal.

Apple is said to have told real-estate developers that it is in search of a Los Angeles production campus. The production facilities could exceed half a million square feet in size, with enough space for the production of multiple TV shows and movies, likely for the Cupertino firm’s Apple TV+ streaming service.

Apple is likely having a bit of an issue in finding facilities to meet its needs, as many of the city’s available production facilities are said to be booked heavily in the coming months.

Mike Mosallam joined Apple in January this year as a lead production real-estate executive for Los Angeles, reportedly to oversee the company’s soundstage strategy. He previously worked as Netflix’s director of production planning and studio leasing.

Apple is reportedly looking to increase its presence in Hollywood by establishing a production campus. While Apple currently leases soundstages for its Apple TV+ productions in Los Angeles, a dedicated campus would help streamline the production process.
