Bloomberg’s Gurman: Apple to Debut new iPhone SE With 5G, New iPad Air at March 8 Event

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says Apple has plans to debut an updated iPhone SE with 5G connectivity and a new iPad Air at a March event. Gurman says Apple is targeting Tuesday, March 8 for the event.

As has been rumored previously, the new iPhone SE will look similar to the current model, which resembles an iPhone 8, but it will boast a faster A-series chip (likely the A15), and will also boast 5G connectivity and an improved camera.

Meanwhile, the revamped iPad Air is said to also feature an improved A-series chip along with 5G connectivity, but no major design changes. A new Mac using Apple Silicon may make an appearance at the event. Some rumors claim it is a new Mac mini model.

iOS 15.4 may also launch alongside the event and the new devices.

The march event is expected to be a digital-only event, similar to the events we’ve seen Apple hold ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the globe.

In possibly related news, Apple in January filed two new ‌iPad‌ models and one new ‌iPhone‌ in the Eurasian Economic Commission database with model numbers that do not correlate with any currently released product.

Those same model numbers have since been cross-referenced by “industry sources” cited in a new 91mobiles report that the new information tells us that the iPhone SE 3, a new iPad Air, and a budget iPad model will be launching in India this spring.
