Apple TV+ Show ‘The Afterparty’ Scores a Season Two Renewal

Apple has announced an early season two renewal of “The Afterparty,” the broadly acclaimed and hit murder-mystery comedy series that premiered earlier this year. The Afterparty’s season one finale is scheduled for this Friday, March 4.

“The Afterparty” centers on a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each of the eight episodes features a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual style and film genre to match the teller’s personality. The series is done in a “Rashomon” style, where every episode tells the same story from a different character’s perspective – and each is also in a different genre.

Apple TV+ heavily promoted the series on its release, making the first episode available for free on YouTube and also hosting a live watch party on Twitter. With the announcement of a second season, Apple indicates that this season’s murder may not be solved in just one season. Or, Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) will be listening to a different set of stories when a fresh murder occurs. Either way, I’m in.

The first season of The Afterparty is available on Apple TV+. if you haven’t yet watched it, I suggest that you remedy that as soon as possible.
