Google Chrome Version 100 Includes 28 Security Fixes, New Icon

Google today released Chrome version 100, its browser for Macs, PCs, iPhones and iPads, Android devices, and other devices. The new version includes 28 security fixes, as well as its first major icon update since 2014.

The updated icon design features a simplified icon with brighter colors and the shadows are no longer present. The new icon is on both the desktop and on iOS and iPadOS devices. Chrome designer Elvin Hu tweeted that the refreshed design was meant to align with “Google’s more modern brand expression.”

Chrome version 100 for iOS is available in the App Store for free, while Chrome for Mac is available on Google’s website.
