Popular Apple TV+ Space Drama ‘For All Mankind’ Returning for Season 3 on June 10

The third season of the popular Apple TV+ space Drama “For All Mankind” will kick off on Friday, June 10, Apple announced on Monday. The drama was one of the first Apple TV+ series that were available upon the service’s launch in November 2020. The show has proven to be a hit with viewers.

The 10-episode third season will debut with the first episode, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday, on Apple TV+.

The series, created by Ronald D. Moore, is set in an alternate universe, where the Russians landed a cosmonaut on the moon before the United States put an astronaut there. The show illustrates what might have happened had the space race remained a priority for the U.S. and Russia. The first season showed the U.S. space program as it attempted to catch up with the Russians, while the second season jumped a full decade, picking things up in 1983 at the height of the cold war when the U.S. and the USSR are battling over resources available on the moon.

Season three includes another time jump, this time to the early 90s when the US and the Soviet Union are racing to be the first on Mars.

The propulsive new season of the alternate-reality series takes viewers to a new decade, moving into the early ’90s with a high-octane race to a new planetary frontier: Mars. The Red Planet becomes the new front in the space race not only for the US and the Soviet Union but also an unexpected new entrant with a lot to prove and even more at stake. Our characters find themselves going head-to-head as their ambitions for Mars come into conflict and their loyalties are tested, creating a pressure cooker that builds to a climactic conclusion.

Returning for season three are Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt.
