Unreleased Mac mini Model Spotted in Latest Studio Display Firmware

A mention of an unreleased Mac mini model has been found within the code of the latest Studio Display firmware, providing support to recent rumors that Apple has an updated Mac mini on the way sometime this year.

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith tweeted that in the iOS 15.4 code for the Studio Display, there is a reference to “Macmini10,1.” That identifier does not match any currently existing released ‌Mac mini‌ and is likely to be the model ID connected to a rumored upcoming ‌Mac mini‌.

We have seen rumors indicating that Apple has plans for a new high-end Mac mini to replace the sole Intel mini in the lineup. However, the recent launch of the Mac Studio has the prognosticators a built befuddled, leading to uncertainty as to whether the new Mac mini will be a high-end or a low-end device.

Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes we might not see a new Mac mini this year, predicting that the new model will instead debut in 2023.
