Apple Watch Ultra Pre-Orders Already Showing Up to 7 Week Wait

Apple’s all-new Apple Watch Ultra went up for pre-order on Wednesday in the U.S. and over 40 other countries. The new high-end Apple Watch, which starts at $799, will hit stores and early orderer’s doorsteps on September 23. However, if you haven’t already placed your order, you may be faced with a wait of up to seven weeks, depending on which of the three watch band options you want.

You can still take delivery of your new Ultra on September 23 if you want the Alpine Loop in green, and you have a small wrist. However, if you need a medium or large band, you’ll wait for three to four weeks. If you opt for the starlight option, you can get delivery for September 23 in any of the three sizes.

At the other end of the spectrum, ordering the Watch with the Blue/Gray Trail Loop in either size and you face a six to seven-week delay for delivery.

Each of the bands was designed with specific usage cases in mind:

Designed specifically for endurance athletes and runners, the Trail Loop band is the thinnest Apple Watch band to date. The lightweight woven textile is both soft and flexible, allowing it to cinch to the optimal fit, and the convenient tab is designed for quick and easy adjustment.

With explorers in mind, the Alpine Loop band features two integrated layers made from one continuous weaving process that eliminates the need for stitching. The top loops, interspersed with high-strength yarn, provide adjustability and a secure attachment for the titanium G-hook fastener.

The Ocean Band is designed specifically for extreme water sports and recreational diving with a titanium buckle and corresponding spring-loaded loop. Molded from a flexible fluoroelastomer, it stretches and utilizes the tubular geometry for a secure fit. The Ocean Band also has an optional extra-long tail that allows users to comfortably wear over a wetsuit.

The new Apple Watch Ultra offers a new design and a wide range of features built for “endurance, exploration, and adventure.”

Apple Watch Ultra sports a 49mm titanium case and flat sapphire front crystal boasting the biggest and brightest Apple Watch display yet. A new customizable Action button offers instant access to a wide range of features.

Apple says the Apple Watch Ultra has the best battery life of any Apple Watch, reaching up to 36 hours during normal use. A new low-power setting, ideal for multi-day experiences, can extend battery life to reach up to 60 hours.

A new “Wayfinder” watch face is designed specifically for the larger Apple Watch Ultra display and includes a compass built into the dial, with space for up to eight complications. Apple Watch Ultra also brings three new bands — Trail Loop, Alpine Loop, and Ocean Band — which Apple says offer unique design features that provide a secure and comfortable fit for every adventure.
