iPhone 15 Pro Max May Set Record for Thinnest Bezels Ever on a Smartphone

The leaker known as “Ice Universe” says the iPhone 15 Pro Max will “break the record” for having the thinnest bezels ever on any smartphone. The current record is held by the 1.81mm bezels on the Xiaomi 13. Ice Universe has a decent record for accurate predictions in the past.

The leaker’s information jibes with other expectations for the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s design. Both iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to sport thinner, curved bezels when compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. If the leaker is correct. the larger 6.7-inch model will have minimal bezels.

Ice Universe tweeted earlier today that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will “break the record” of 1.81mm bezels held by the Xiaomi 13. The new handset is said to boast a black bezel width of just 1.55mm. to provide a comparison, Ice Universe included measurements for bezels on the iPhone 14 Pro (2.17mm) and the Samsung Galaxy Ultra S23 (1.95mm).

Numerous rumors have stated that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will boast ultra-thin bezels around the display, similar to the Apple Watch Series 7 and newer.

The bezels on all four iPhone 15 models are expected to be slightly curved around the edges, similar to the iPhone 11 series. However, the width of the bezels on the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are not expected to differ from the bezels on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 lineup sometime in September. The new handsets are expected to replace the traditional Lightning port with a USB-C port, have more RAM, be powered by an A17 Bionic chip, and boast WiFi 6E connectivity,  Apple is also expected to make some minor design updates to the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ chassis, adding a deeper curve to the handset’s edges. The company is also said to be transitioning to a titanium material instead of stainless steel.
