Best Buy now sells unlocked iPhones in the U.S. Unfortunately, only older models are available to be used with a variety of carriers. Models available include the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, and third-generation iPhone SE. Best Buy is not carrying unlocked iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro models at this time.
Best Buy traditionally has sold iPhones in new condition only through carrier partnerships. The retailer would only sell you an iPhone locked to a designated carrier and requiring activation through that carrier. To find an unlocked iPhone, you’d have to buy from another retailer or directly from Apple.
There are multiple benefits for users that buy an unlocked iPhone, as they can use it on any carrier they choose, allowing them to move between carriers without contract hassles.
The unlocked iPhones are used (Whoops! I mean “pre-owned) and are said to be in new condition. The unlocked iPhones are available at all physical Best Buy stores and on BestBuy.com.
Best Buy’s unlocked iPhones will be sold alongside iPhones for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Best Buy operates over 1,000 stores across the U.S.
