Kuo: Apple Appears to Have Resolved Early iPhone 15 Pro Production Issues

Apple’s September iPhone 15 event is just around the corner and Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports on the initial iPhone 15 Pro production issues Apple faced and what challenges it continues to face.

Kuo’s report, published on Wednesday morning, says that Apple experienced some initial issues with nearly every aspect of the new handset’s design. Issues included “stacked CIS, panels, batteries … and titanium frames.”

Apple has apparently resolved most of these issues, says Kuo. The stacked CIS (motherboard) issues were resolved by increasing the production of the component. Screen issues are said to have been resolved by mixing up the supplier list for the panels.

Kuo says the titanium frame issues were related to the difficulties in working with titanium, which is difficult to work with in consumer electronics. Kuo said specifically that “high processing difficulty and significant design changes during development” were the causes of the initial problems experienced by Apple.

In addition to listing manufacturing issues, Kuo also chimed in on the subject of the available colors of both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro lineups. Kup claims the “Pro colors may be gray, white, black, and blue. The regular colors may be black, pink, yellow, blue, and green.”

Kuo says that the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the last to start being manufactured. This jibes with rumors that the larger iPhone 15 Pro model will ship a bit later than the other models.

Apple will unveil its new iPhone 15 lineup at its “Wonderlust” media event, which will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
