Apple will debut its updated AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case at its “Wonderlust” iPhone 15 media event on Tuesday, September 12. The USB-C charging port will be the only change to the popular wireless earbuds, says Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
In the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Gurman says he believes Apple will eventually add USB-C ports to all AirPods in its lineup, but he indicates that the AirPods Pro earbuds will be the first to receive the updated charging case.
In late August, Gurman reported that Apple will announce updated AirPods with a USB-C charging case during its iPhone 15 event on September 12. All four iPhone 15 models that will debut next month are widely expected to sport a USB-C port in place of the traditional Lightning port.
“To match the new iPhones, Apple will introduce updated AirPods at the event that include a USB-C charging port,” wrote Gurman.
However, Gurman did not specify which AirPods would receive the USB-C charging port.
