Which Apple Products Are Still Sold With Lightning Connectors?

While Lightning’s reign at Apple appears to be coming to an end, there are still devices and accessories that still use Lightning connectors.

Apple announced on Tuesday that all four iPhone 15 devices are equipped with a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning Port Apple had used since the release of the iPhone 5. Apple also announced that the USB-C charging port would now be used on its AirPods Pro charging case, while also debuting wired EarPods with a USB-C connector.

Although Apple has made the move to USB-C for most of its devices and accessories, there are still a small number of devices and accessories that still use the Lightning connector. (Via MacRumors):

  • iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE
  • Ninth-generation iPad
  • Second-generation and third-generation AirPods
  • AirPods Max
  • First-generation Apple Pencil
  • Magic Keyboard (Mac version)
  • Magic Mouse
  • Magic Trackpad
  • Various cables and adapters

While the above products are still equipped with a Lightning port, they will likely receive an update to USB-C in the near future.

Apple has also dropped its MagSafe Battery Pack, as well as its MagSafe Duo Charger, both of which sported a Lightning connector.
