Iffy Rumor Claims Apple to Launch Vision Pro Last Week of January

A somewhat iffy report coming out of China claims Apple will launch its Vision Pro headset in the last week of this month (January). The rumor comes courtesy of Wall Street Insights, a Chinese investor news service with an unproven track record for Apple rumors.

WSI claims it has exclusive information indicating that the Vision Pro will launch on Saturday, January 27 in the United States. While the report says the launch is scheduled on a date that falls on a Saturday in the United States, there is a chance that the website is referring to January 27 in China, which would be Friday, January 26 in the United States.

Apple seldom launches its new hardware products on Saturdays and it is quite unlikely that Apple would break tradition when it comes to the Vision Pro release. The company prefers to launch products on weekdays, ensuring better media coverage and stock market reaction. Also, Apple traditionally chooses Fridays to launch its new devices.

For its part, Apple has only said that the Vision Pro headset will launch “early” this year. The Cupertino company has not yet announced a specific time frame for pre-orders or the headset’s launch. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record when it comes to Apple-related prediction, recently said that he expects the Vision Pro to be released in late January or early February. However, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has stuck with his prediction that Apple is planning to launch the device in February.
