We Likely Won’t See a New Mid-Cycle iPhone 15 Color This Year

Apple is likely to abandon its traditional new mid-cycle iPhone color release this spring, according to a new rumor from out of Asia.

Apple has in the past introduced a new iPhone color option in the spring as a way to boost mid-cycle sales. In 2017 and 2018, it released red mid-cycle versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 lines, respectively. Then in 2021, Apple switched things up a bit, debuting a purple color for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models for the spring season.

In March 2022, the iPhone 13 lineup received new green finishes, and in March 2023, Apple debuted a new yellow color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

However, this year we may not see a color update for the iPhone 15 lineup, as Chinese Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital claims there is no new spring color scheme on the way for the iPhone 15.

At the moment, we’ll be taking this report with a grain of salt-free seasoning, so we’ll wait and see.
