The Upcoming iPhone 16 Pro May Boast Apple’s Brightest Display Ever

The display of the iPhone 16 Pro lineup could boast the brightest display ever and be easier to see in daylight if a new rumor proves to be accurate. While the current iPhone Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models already have the brightest displays ever, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could end up with an even brighter display.

Leaker Setsuna Digital on Weibo says the iPhone 16 Pro will have a typical maximum brightness of 1,200 nits and a peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits. This would be an increase of 200 nits from the max brightness of the iPhone 15 Pro. and a match for the peak HDR brightness of the current Pro and Pro Max models.

The leaker responded to queries, saying the upcoming iPhone “does not have dual-layer OLED.” (The recently released M4 iPad Pro uses a Tandem OLED system, which uses two OLED layers for its display.

Setsuna DigitalĀ did not offer details about the steps Apple is taking to make the display brighter.

It should be noted that although Setsuna DigitalĀ has a large following on Weibo, he doesn’t have a long track record for rumors such as this. Most recently, the leaker said we would see a March iPad launch, which did not happen.

Keep your salt shakers handy folks, as there is plenty of time for more iPhone 16 Pro rumors before it debuts in September.
