Plex unveiled its revamped iPhone app back in November and the app boasts improved navigation, a dedicated media libraries section, larger artwork, and more. While the new app is still in beta, Apple TV users can now give it a try.
We’re thrilled to expand the preview of our newly reimagined Plex experience to include testing on Apple TV, with more platforms coming soon. Please keep in mind this is nowhere close to perfect, but we want to get feedback from the community as early as we can. The app will get better over time!

Plex is a popular video player that not only allows users to stream their own media library to a variety of devices, and it also offers free ad-supported TV shows and movies.

Apple TV users simply need to install the TestFlight app from the tvOS App Store, and then install the Plex beta. You can find step-by-step instructions on Plex’s website.
Plex has said the redesigned app will be available to the public in early 2025, but hasn’t been more specific about the public release date.
