Apple Makes Parts and Self-Repair Manuals for M4 Mac Lineup Available

Apple this week began offering parts and tools for all M4 Macs to its self-service repair store in the U.S. and many European countries. The offerings include parts for MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini models powered by M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. Repair manuals for M4 Macs are available on Apple’s website.

Apple in April 2022 launched a Self Service Repair program for iPhones and Macs, providing repair kits, repair manuals, and components to customers. Apple also offers repair programs for independent repair shops, including the Apple Authorized Service Provider option and the Independent Repair Provider program.

Self-repair parts available for M4 Macs that can be ordered include displays, logic boards, speakers, trackpads, top cases with a keyboard and battery, SSD modules, USB-C ports, fans, Wi-Fi antennas, and more.

Apple points out that the store is operated by a third-party provider authorized by Apple to sell genuine parts and tools.

In addition to parts for M4 Macs, the self-service repair store also offers parts to repair multiple iPhone models, Studio Displays, and replacement batteries for the Beats Pill speaker.

Apple says the program is “intended for individuals who are experienced with the complexities of repairing electronic devices,” and notes that the repair manuals include important safety information for those choosing to repair their Apple products.
