iOS 18.4 Beta 1 Coming as Soon as Next Week – Will Bring Improvements to Siri

iOS 18.4 Beta 1 Coming as Soon as Next Week – Will Bring Improvements to Siri

The first beta of Apple’s upcoming iOS 18.4 update could be seeded to developers as soon as the middle of next week, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

If this is true, it’ll likely be a busy week for Apple, as its is expected to debut new Powerbeats with a heart rate sensor, as well a a fourth-generation iPhone SE. We could see the new beta be seeded on February 12 or 13, or if Apple waits for another week, the beta could be released on February 18 (February 17 is a U.S. holiday, Presidents’ Day).

While Apple often seeds new betas almost immediately after new public releases of its operating system updates, we’ve seen a bit of a delay between the release of iOS 18.3 on Monday, January 27, making it two weeks on Monday, February 10 since the 18.3 release.

There are quite a few new features for Siri said to be on the way in iOS 18.4, which could account for the delay between the last public release and the first beta of 18.4. the beta is widely expected to bring major Apple Intelligence features for Siri, including gaining personal context, onscreen awareness, and the ability to do more in and between apps.

The update is also expected to bring new emoji characters, changes to some default app options in the European Union, and the expansion of ‌Apple Intelligence‌ to new languages and countries.

Apple has announced that Apple Intelligence will expand to additional countries in an April update, so that we will likely see an April launch for iOS 18.4.
