iPadOS 19 to Show Mac-Like Menu Bar When Using Magic Keyboard, Says Leaker

An iPad running iPadOS 19 will display a macOS-like menu bar on its screen when it is connected to a Magic Keyboard, claims leaker Majin Bu. Bu’s comments came in a post on Thursday on his blog.

If the feature makes it to release, it will further blur the lines between the iPad and the Mac. Bu’s comments jibe with those of Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, who previously claimed that iPadOS 19 will be “more like macOS.” Gurman said there will be improvements to productivity, multitasking, and app window management. A macOS-like menu bar would definitely fit that overall plan.

Bu also claims that iPadOS 19 will bring an enhanced version of Stage Manager, whic allows users to use multiple apps at once on an external display. The leaker didn’t provide any specific details, saying only that Stage Manager will work more seamlessly. Bu also said that iOS 19 will enable at least a basic version of Stage Manager on iPhone models with a USB-C port.

Apple should seed the first beta of iPadOS 19 immediately following its unveiling during the June 9 WWDC 2025 keynote. However, the new features above may not make an appearance in the first beta, as some features don’t make an appearance until later betas.

Majin Bu has a somewhat mixed track record when it comes to Apple rumors, so we’ll wait and see.
