Weibo Leaker Says iPhone 18 Will Use High Performance Six-Channel Memory

Apple’s 2026 iPhone 18 lineup will boast an impressive leap in its memory performance, says a new post by Weibo-based leaker Digital Chat Station. The leaker claims the 2026 iPhone models will be equipped with a high-capacity six-channel LPDDR5X memory configuration, significantly upping the memory bandwidth, providing improved performace for Artificial Intelligence features and multitasking.

The iPhone 17 series will use Apple Intelligence and AI on a large scale, so it will use 12GB of memory on a large scale. When paired with TSMC N3p’s A19 Pro, the performance should be significantly improved.

In addition, according to the supply chain, the iPhone 18 series will be the first to launch the 6-channel LPDDR5X with large memory next year, and the performance sector has begun to work hard.

Expanded memory bandwidth should provide smoother multitasking, and significantly improved AI capabilities. Apple is also expected to use the A20 Pro chip, which is expected be built using TSMC‘s third-generation 3nm fabrication process, bringing added benefits.

When it comes to Apple product rumors, Digital Chat Station has a decent track record, in the past accurately revealed that the ‌iPhone 15‌ and ‌iPhone 15‌ Plus would feature a slightly smaller 48-megapixel sensor than the ‌iPhone 15‌ Pro and ‌iPhone 15‌ Pro Max. Still, it’s a long time until the iPhone 18’s 2026 launch, meaning Apple’s hardware plans could still evolve ahead of the device’s unveiling.

Earlier today, we reported that Digital Chat Station has backed up previous claims by other parties that all of the 2025 iPhone 17 lineup will boast 12GB of RAM to provide support for Apple Intelligence.
