If you were unable to complete a transaction Using Apple Pay or Apple Cash earlier today, it wasn’t just you, as problems with those systems left customers unable to complete a transaction. Happily, the otage lasted only a bit more than an hour.
According to the System Status page on Apple’s website, several Apple Services were affected by the outage. At around 11:14 AM Eastern Time on Friday, users began experiencing difficulties with Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, and Apple Wallet. Other Apple-branded services appear to have been unaffected.
The System Status page now shows the issues as resolved as of 1:01 p.m. Eastern time. As you might imagine, Apple users were not pleased with the outage, with several taking to social media to complain about not being able to complete Apple Pay transactions or use Apple Cash.
While Apple service outages are few and far bwetween, they do happen. Apple Wallet had an outage back in December 2023, and Apple Cash has an issue in May of that same year. Apple Cash most recently experienced an outage in January 2025.
