Apple Updates Sports App With Tennis Scores, Just in Time for Wimbledon

Apple has announced an update to its Sports app, adding support for tennis, just in time for Wimbledon. The update also brings a revamped “Home” section.

Tennis fans can access live scores for Grand Slam® and 1000-level tournaments, and can track every point across all men’s and women’s singles matches, beginning with Wimbledon. Fans can stay updated on a player’s progress throughout the tournament, with live scores delivered incredibly fast in the same way fans have been loving from Apple Sports, plus get results from every match from the first round through the finals. Fans can follow all of the action as the tournament and season unfolds.

Tennis fans can view live scores for Grand Slam and 1000 tournaments, and also track current and previous men’s and women’s singles matches.

Apple Sports offers the Live Activities feature, delivering real-time updates directly to a user’s iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch. This means you can view live tennis scores at a glance on an iPhone’s Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and newer.

The app’s revamped “Home” section now groups matchups and events by league, and fans can now access expanded controls in the order they prefer. Pitcher and batter matchups are also now at the top of every scoreboard.

The Apple Sports app, which launched in February 2024, is a free app for the iPhone that provides access to real-time scores, stats, and more. The app offers a personalized experience that allows users to put their favorite leagues and teams front and center.

Apple Sports is available in the App Store.
