A new rumor from leaker “Digital Chat Station” claims the base-model iPhone 17 will boast a larger screen that will be the same size as the screen on the iPhone 16 Pro.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this rumor, as last month, display analyst Ross Young claimed that the iPhone 17 would feature a 6.3-inch screen, larger than the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 16.
“The screen size of iPhone 17 has changed to 6.27/6.3 inches,” says Digital Chat Station (in translation). If accurate, it would mean that the new iPhone 17 would have a screen size matching the screen size of the current iPhone 16 Pro.
In May, Young listed the screen sizes he expects for the entire iPhone 17 lineup:
- iPhone 17 – 6.27-inch display, up from 6.12 inches.
- iPhone 17 Air – 6.55 inches.
- iPhone 17 Pro – 6.27-inch display, same as iPhone 16 Pro.
- iPhone 17 Pro Max – 6.86-inch display, same as iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Many expect the entire iPhone 17 lineup to get displays with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, an improved 24-megapixel selfie camera, and a more powerful A19 chip.
