Apple has joined Meta’s social media site Threads, and it only took two years after Threads first launched to do so. Apple now has a verified Threads profile and using the @apple handle, but has not yet made any posts. Apple’s new account start off with a golden spoon in its mouth, as it has 4.8 million followers before its first post, thanks to inheriting its followers from Instagram.
At this point, we don’t know if Apple will actually make use of its new Threads account. While the Cupertino company has the @apple handle on X, it only uses the account for advertising, never sharing content via the account, instead using device and feature-related accounts. Apple similarly has a Facebook account with 15 million followers but nary a post.
As for other social networks, Apple does regularly post “Shot on iPhone” videos on its @apple Instagram account, and it has an @apple TikTok account that’s used for sharing Apple product tips.
